Developing over 1,500 m2 of surface area, the Dom Robert Museum and 20th century tapestry is within the Abbey-school of Sorèze in the Tarn, the place of presentation of the collection of tapestries from the Abbey of En calcat. This collection, entrusted by agreement to the Syndicat Mixte, owner and manager of the premises, comes in part from the bequest of Suzanne Goubely on her death in 1997. It includes a tapestry fund of 350 m2 made up of 60 tapestries by Dom Robert and 35 by other 20th century artists, from Lurçat and Gromaire to Tourlière and Prassinos. The Dom Robert Museum, integrated into the Abbaye-école de Sorèze site, was created and financed by the Syndicat mixte, made up of the Midi-Pyrénées Region - now Occitanie, the Tarn department and the City of Sorèze; financing supplemented by aid from the State, Europe and private sponsors (Pierre Fabre Laboratory and Heritage Foundation) The design of the museum and the scenography were entrusted to Susanna Ferrini, architect (n!studio firm, Rome, Italy) at the end of the competition launched in 2012, according to the synopsis designed by Brigitte Benneteu and Sophie Guérin-Gasc.
